something interesting

TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships.
When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation. A telephone operator told me that one day she received a phone call. She answered, "Public Utilities Board." There was silence. She repeated, "PUB." There was still no answer. When she was going to cut off the line, she Heard a lady's voice, "Oh, so this is PUB.Sorry , I got the number from my Husband's pocket but I do not know whose number it is." Without mutual trust, just imagine what will happen to the couple if the telephone operator answered with just "hello" instead of "PUB".

N O POINTING FINGERS
A man asked his father-in-law, "Many people praised you for a successful marriage. Could you please share with me your secret?" The father-in-law answered in a smile, "Never criticize your wife for her shortcomings or when she does something wrong. Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husband than you." We all look forward to being loved and respected. Many people are afraid of losing face. Generally, when a person makes a mistake, he would look around to find a scapegoat to point the finger at. This is the start of a war. We should always remember that when we point one finger at a person, the other four fingers are pointing at ourselves. If we forgive the others, others will ignore our mistake too.

NO OVERPOWERING
Many relationships fail because one party tries to overpower another,or demands too much. People in love tend to think that love will conquer all and their spouses will change the bad habits after marriage. Actually, this is not the case. There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "It is easier to reshape a mountain or a river than a person's character." It is not easy to change. Thus, having high expectation on changing the spouse character will cause disappointment and unpleasantness. It would be less painful to change ourselves and lower our expectations..

R IGHT SPEECH
There is a Chinese saying which carries the meaning that "A speech will either prosper or ruin a nation." Many relationships break off because of wrong speech. When a couple is too close with each other,we always forget mutual respect and courtesy. We may say anything without considering if it would hurt the other party. A friend and her millionaire husband visited their construction site. A worker who wore a helmet saw her and shouted,"Hi, Emily! Remember me? We used to date in the secondary school." On the way home, her millionaire husband teased her, "Luckily you married me.Otherwise you will be the wife of a construction worker." She answered ,"You should appreciate that you married me. Otherwise, he will be the millionaire and not you." Frequently exchanging these remarks plants the seed for a bad relationship. It's like a broken egg - cannot be reversed.

PERSONAL PERCEPTION
Different people have different perception. One man's meat could be another man's poison. A couple bought a donkey from the market. On the way home,a boy commented, "Very stupid. Why neither of them ride on the donkey?"Upon hearing that, the husband let the wife ride on the donkey. He walked besides them. Later, an old man saw it and commented, "The husband is the head of family. How can the wife ride on the donkey while the husband is on foot?" Hearing this, the wife quickly got down and let the husband ride on the donkey. Further on the way home, they met an old Lady. She commented, "How can the man ride on the donkey but let the wife walk. He is no gentleman." The husband thus quickly asked the wife to join him on the donkey. Then, they met a young man. He commented, "Poor donkey, how can you hold up the weight of two persons. They are cruel to you." Hearing that, the husband and wife immediately climbed down from the donkey and carried it on their shoulders. It seems to be the only choice left. Later, on a narrow bridge, the donkey was frightened and struggled. They lost their balance and fell into the river. You can never have everyone praise you, nor will everyone condemn you. Never in the past, not at present, and never will be in the future. Thus, do not be too bothered by others words if our conscience is clear..

B E PATIENT
This is a true story which happened in the States. A man came out of his home to admire his new truck. To his puzzlement, his three-year-old son was happily hammering dents into the shiny paint of the truck. The man ran to his son, knocked him away, hammered the little boy's hands into pulp as punishment. When the father calmed down, he rushed his son to the hospital. Although the doctor tried desperately to save the crushed bones, he finally had to amputate the fingers from both the boy's hands. When the boy woke up from the surgery & saw his bandaged stubs, he innocently said, " Daddy,I'm sorry about your truck." Then he asked, "but when are my fingers going to grow back?" The father went home & committed suicide. Think about this story the next time someone steps on your feet or u wish to take revenge. Think first before u lose your patience with someone u love. Trucks can be repaired.. Broken bones & hurt feelings often can't. Too often we fail to recognize the difference between the person and the performance. We forget that forgiveness is greater than revenge. People make mistakes. We are allowed to make mistakes. But the actions we take while in a rage will haunt us forever.

Home sweet home..

Welcome back to singapore.. hee.. just went back to malacca during my leave for my family's birthday.. cum church camp as well.. really enjoyed but kinda tired actually..

hmmm... y tired?? let me see.. went home on monday after night shift and after sunday service.. does that rang the bell?? hmm.. if not enough to get myself tired.. there are more to come.. after reached home(i mean back to malacca), didn't really get to sleep much actually.. cos need to catch up with my mum.. and... guess what my homework that was given by my dear shepherd... hee.. then one after another's birthday.. then here comes the CALL from singapore... guess who??? from my dear shepherd... she ask me to help out in composing a birthday song.. which she said is for a sister from our group and needed to present it during the camp.. which means the date due for composing this song was 2 days later... good huh... really stretched me hor... hahaha..

guess what.. i managed to finish composing the song with the help of my dear leader eugene..besides that hee.. tiredness really due to insufficient sleep ... finally my fellow unit came over to malacca for our church camp...being a host.. i took them around to hunt for food and shopping.. hee.. really hope u guys enjoyed yourselves..

here comes the fun part.. which was the theme night.. really enjoyed being in this wonderful family .. everyone of us was so excited with the idea of Adam's family.. and catherine really did a great job which make us looked like we r really 'the Adam's Family'...hope u guys know what i meant.. hee.. will show u guys the photos sometime later k.. later after the theme night we went out for our supper.!!!as all of us missed our dinner actually.. how's the 'asam fish'?? hee..
Thanks catherine and john for organising a mini pre- birthday celebration for marc, theresa and myself.. was really touched...

oh ya.. forgotten to add this earlier on... right before the theme night myself and merlyn went to several places to wanting to prepare the gifts for the leaders and as well as being an obedient sheep, my shepherd asked me to get a birthday cake.. me and merlyn walked over to the bakery... merlyn, thank you for accompanying me to do all these things. know it was not easy and was very tiring as well but really appreciate it..we finally got the cake .. and kept it in our room..

here comes the next day.. after hearing from pastor simon, we was dismissed for unit huddle..which this was when i needed to present the song that we composed earlier on...and remember the cake i mentioned earlier on as well.. jac somehow asked me to hide in the toilet with the cake as we needed to surprise a sister in our group.. guess what?? we do have a birthday celebration again.. and this time round JUNE was the one who bought the birthday cake for marc, theresa, ashley and not forgetting june, herself... hee.. good idea huh..
the song presentation for marc and theresa... was so touched right... hee.. anyway.. thanks for all the affirmations... jac, is not that i do not want to share much about myself but i am not prepared actually.. if it was half a year ago.. i would.. hope u know what i meant..and thank you so much for 'TRYING TO SELL ME OUT'... this jac arr... haiii... hee...

finally... the last day of camp.. so sad right.. hmmmm... we enjoyed this camp.. enjoyed being with one another.. enjoyed the friendship and we enjoyed in the house of the Lord...
something i have learned from this camp was being a word centered Christ follower is important in order to build a prevailing generation..

i shall end this with the lyric that we composed for the birthday boy and gals...
oh ya.. this song is dedicated to everyone in the unit.. i appreciates and treasured the time that we have together.... and thanks for letting me know that u guys really 'sayang' me... thanks once again...

I will pour out my spirit

Is time for book review again..
This book was written by R.E Davies.. hmmm.. It took me almost 4 months to finish reading this book.. so 'chim' ar.. know what? everytime i started reading it.. my eyes wil automatically close.. for those people who suffered imsonia.. let me introduce this wonderful book to you... hee..
k la.. not as bad as that..
eventhough this book is kinda ' boring' but it does speaks to me.. hee.. i shall not complain then.. hee.. this book actually talks about the history of revival..and awakening..

what is revival??

Revival brings back spiritual consciousness, life, and vigorous health--to flourish again after decline. Revival recovers the biblical standard of truth, doctrine, and lifestyle. It is a fresh awareness of the presence of God, a confession of sin leading to a restoration of holy living, a new initiative in fulfilling the Great Commission, a new hunger for the Word of God, and a new faith for the supernatural.

Real revival comes only from God. He alone is the fountainhead. A spiritual awakening cannot be scheduled, worked up or humanly engineered. If we are to experience a "refreshing time from the Lord," it will be because God's sovereign hour has arrived. God grants revival blessings when and where he pleases.

From the surveys that was done by the authors which revival and awakenings happened mainly cause by :
-persistent prayer
-powerful preaching and testimony
-a deep awarenes of the pesence and Holiness of God leading to a strong sense of conviction of sin and repentance
-physical manifestation of conviction of sin
-miracles of healing and the excercise of spiritual gifts such as supernatural knowledge, prohecy and speaking in tongues.

something i learned from this book was how the non believer view revival, they will often focus on the outward and unusual phenomena, rather than concentrating on the inward experirence which causing the external and exceptional..

Something that really spokes to me thru this book was God can use just anyone to do His work..
As we prepare our life for revival, focus o God and divine possibilities.. Faith comes by the word of God .. As He is the source of revival..

Relationship..continuation..

God is pursuing a love relationship with us. It is filled with stories of people in relationship with God. It's not just laws and dates and battles, it's people; people who came to know God and through their lives got to know God more and more deeply. For examples..Abraham, Moses, David, the prophets.... Whether you know of these people from your own experience of reading the scripture or not, trust me on this, all of these people have a relationship, a living communication with God...

In the New Testament is it the same way; Mary, Peter, Paul, John; we look at their life and we can see what was written in scripture was progressive relationship with God. It's everywhere there... as what i mentioned earlier on in previous blog.. God wasn't just an idea for these people. God was a person. God is a person that they grew to know better and better and that God calls us to know him better and better..

God deserve our praise and support as He love us so much..hee.. any objection??
